Save Your Bike! Don’t bring your bike to Burning Man. Ride ours! The Playa is a punishing place for bikes. Have us deliver you a perfectly functioning ride and let us worry about cleaning it up after a week in the desert. Love it AND leave it!
We offer two basic setups.
$100. The Mountain Bike (men’s or women’s) with off-road tire tread and gears for traveling at whatever speed you choose. ($100 deposit required)
$100. The Beach Cruiser (men’s or women’s) with wide tires for a simple ride that will make your week of travels on the playa as smooth as possible. ($100 deposit required)
Height (sizing): You can pick out your bike on the Playa, but please give us your height so we can have a good mix of bikes for Burners to choose from.
Pick up your bicycle on the Playa. We will be trucking in all of the bikes for our renters to pick up at their convenience at our camp and we will be staying all week to help any cyclists who need our assistance to stay cyclists during Burning Man. The bike must be returned in the same shape that it is rented. The $100.00 deposit will be refunded if the bike comes back damage free. Necessary repairs (beyond cleaning and tuning) will be paid for from your deposit.
PLEASE NOTE: Any mechanic work offered during the Burning Man festival will be our gift to you. Do not expect us to solve all of your cycling problems as we may not have the parts, tools, or stamina necessary to fix all issues. We sell and deliver a Basic Repair Kit to help Burners attain the most pure forms of radical self-reliance. Renters are ultimately responsible for the condition of their bike.
Finally, it’s okay if you fall in love. Many Burners have discovered a unique and almost mystical connection to their bicycle after a good Burn. If this happens, don’t suffer from separation anxiety. Take your new friend home and introduce her/him to your mother. We will keep your deposit as completion of your purchase and wish the two of you all the best in your new life together.
Hurry! Space on our truck is limited. Reserve early to ensure you get your bicycle delivered to the Playa. The closer we get to the Burn the harder it is to get a bike. Get yours now!
Accessories for Purchase: (and DELIVERY!)
Lock. Locking up your ride at Burning Man is a must. Every year many Burners lose their ability to travel quickly around Black Rock City because someone snatched their bike. Don’t let this happen to you. It is always best to lock your bike to something solid, something that a would-be thief could not easily move. Short of this, lock your bike to a friend’s bike. A “Burner” dragging two bicycles across the desert is going to attract some attention. Having said this, you are responsible for your bike. If you do everything possible to keep your bike from being stolen and it still goes missing, you will not receive your deposit back. Please please take care of your ride.
Safety Lights (highly recommended). For twenty bucks, your ride will include a front (white) and rear (red) light to keep you visible as you travel across the playa. The front light will provide limited illumination of the path in front of you, but should not be counted on to reveal all of the hazards of riding at night at Burning Man. Safety lights are easily mounted and removed. They fit in your pocket to prevent the jealous from making their bike as safe as your bike.
